AEG To Produce 2007 Timberlake World Tour

By Ray Waddell, Nashville

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Sources say the highly-coveted promoter rights to Justin Timberlake's upcoming world tour went to AEG Live. The tour, which AEG Live nailed down in a hotly-contested bidding war with Live Nation, will include 100 in-the-round arena shows worldwide. The time frame is January of 2007 through October of 2007.

Meanwhile, an upcoming Christina Aguilera European arena tour was sold to different promoters on a market-by-market basis in Europe, with AEG Live also very involved. Aguilera will tour Europe from mid-November until Christmas, to be followed by a North American arena tour being routed now and set to begin in February.

Both Aguilera and Timberlake are booked by Creative Artists Agency and managed by Irving Azoff at Front Line Management. Live Nation and AEG Live both have histories with the acts, but AEG Live promoted a 2003 co-headlining tour by Aguilera and Timberlake that grossed $30 million.
